How 3 Series shops choose filters

Full-downdraft booths make 6H compliance easier to demonstrate, not automatic. The area-source rule expects spraying inside a filtered, ventilated booth maintained to specification, and the full-ceiling input plus floor extraction on the 3 Series is exactly the configuration inspectors are used to seeing; the gap that gets shops written up is missing change documentation, which delivery records close. OSHA 1910.94(c) requires the ventilation to actually perform at the working zone, and NFPA 33 requires arrestors changed before overspray accumulates as combustible loading. A smaller third group runs the 3 Series for industrial coating on parts and fabrications, where heavier spray volumes push floor media harder than collision work does.

When is the floor extraction media due?
When the manometer across the exhaust stage hits the media's rated pressure-drop limit, or earlier if overspray buildup is visible. Fixed calendars overshoot or undershoot depending on paint volume, so read the gauge.
