USI Italia Master 7 Meter Filter Kit

A 7 meter downdraft cabin sized past standard collision length, with roll-stock exhaust media cut to match the extra floor.

The Master line is USI Italia's answer to work that does not fit a standard collision cabin: long vehicles, vans, small commercial units, or shops that want walk-around room at both bumpers. The 7 meter cabin appears in the 2020 AFT catalog with its filter set documented at the SKU level, among the better-anchored fitments in the USI family. What the record does not carry, we do not state: no airflow, burner, or dimension claims beyond the cabin length in the model name. What it does carry is the part that costs money every cycle, the media.

Quick answer

The USI Italia Master 7 Meter is the shorter of the two documented cabin lengths in USI's Master downdraft line, a 7 meter (roughly 23 foot) working cabin. Its catalog-documented consumables: Filtrair FF560GX ceiling diffusion media in the 74 by 132 inch format (SKU 02560741324), 22-gram fiberglass paint arrestor roll stock at 30 inches by 300 feet (SKU 14AG30300) cut to length for the exhaust floor, and 8-pocket prefilter and exhaust bags at 23.5 by 46 by 9 inches (SKU 04FC2346982). Ceiling panel quantity per change-out follows the 7 meter cabin length and is confirmed on the first fitment.

How Master 7 Meter shops choose filters

Why length is the spec that matters. USI sold the Master in 7 and 8 meter cabins, and on a downdraft, cabin length translates directly into filter area: more meters means more ceiling plenum overhead and more exhaust floor underneath, both covered edge to edge in media. Two booths, same model name, meaningfully different consumable bills. The 7 meter is the smaller bill: the same finish quality with less media per change-out, every change-out, for the life of the booth.

Intake side. The documented ceiling format is Filtrair FF560GX at 74 by 132 inches, a progressive-density polyester diffusion panel. The number of panels across your plenum comes off the 7 meter layout and gets locked in at the first order. Replace the set as a set; a half-fresh ceiling diffuses unevenly.

Exhaust side. Roll stock, not pads: 22-gram fiberglass arrestor at 30 inches wide by 300 feet, cut to your floor grid. Roll media on a long cabin is the economical play, because one roll covers multiple change-outs and the cut always matches the grid instead of forcing panel-size compromises. Track how many linear feet one change consumes and the roll tells you exactly how many changes it holds.

AMU stage. The 8-pocket bag format (23.5 by 46 by 9) serves prefilter duty on the make-up air side. Pocket bags carry high dust capacity for their face size, which suits a booth moving as much air as a 7 meter downdraft must.

Regulatory landscape

A longer cabin moves more air, and every regulatory hook scales with it. EPA 6H (NESHAP Subpart HHHHHH) requires filtered booth spraying maintained to design, and on a 7 meter downdraft that means a lot of square feet of media doing its job at once. OSHA 1910.94(c) sets ventilation requirements that a partially plugged 23-foot exhaust floor will quietly violate before anyone smells solvent. NFPA 33 treats loaded arrestor media as combustible accumulation; on roll-stock floors, that argues for full-length changes on schedule rather than swapping the visibly dirty section.

Who runs the Master 7 Meter

Master 7 Meter cabins concentrate where vehicle length breaks standard booths. Collision shops with fleet and van contracts run them so a Sprinter-class vehicle does not spray with its nose in the airflow shadow of the door. Commercial refinishers use the length for rack bodies and cutaways. High-end restoration shops like the extra meters for walk-around access on long classics. All three burn media faster than they first expect, because 7 meters of floor loads across its whole area even when the vehicle is short.

Master 7 Meter filter FAQs

How many ceiling filters does a Master 7 Meter change take?

The documented panel format is 74 by 132 inches in Filtrair FF560GX; the quantity follows your plenum layout across the 7 meter cabin and is confirmed once at the first fitment check. After that the count never changes and reorders are automatic.

How much exhaust roll does one change-out use?

Your floor grid length sets it: the media is 30-inch-wide roll stock cut to fit, and a 7 meter cabin consumes a predictable number of linear feet per change. Measure the grid once (or let the fitment check do it) and you will also know exactly how many change-outs each 300-foot roll yields.

Is the 7 meter cheaper to run than the 8 meter Master?

Per change-out, yes, by the difference in covered area: less ceiling media and fewer linear feet of exhaust roll every cycle. If your work fits in 7 meters, the shorter cabin is the lower consumables cost for life. If you regularly spray vehicles that need the extra meter, the 8 meter's cost difference beats double-handling long vehicles.

What does the 8-pocket bag filter actually do?

It is the high-capacity prefiltration stage, documented at 23.5 by 46 by 9 inches with eight pockets. The pocket geometry packs several times more media surface into the opening than a flat panel, so it holds more dust before pressure rises. It cycles on its own schedule, independent of the ceiling and floor.

Can I run the exhaust roll past its schedule if it still looks open?

No. Fiberglass arrestor loads in depth before it shows on the face, and a loaded floor drops face velocity across the whole cabin: a finish problem, then an OSHA ventilation problem, then an NFPA 33 accumulation problem. The roll stock is the cheapest component in the program; change it on the schedule your pressure readings set.
